“I love him” thought Lyndsay whilst she was kissing him and then other thoughts started to rush in “Did Sarah love him?, what did he tell her?” Lyndsay thought to herself “How many women have fallen for this, he said he was sorry for cheating on his wife and here he is kissing me”. When this realisation dawned on her she pulled back from his kiss. She felt unsure what to say and worried she might weaken so with one last look at him she ran back towards the manor as fast as she could.
She heard him calling her name but she just ran all the faster. When she dared she looked back, he was no where to be seen, the front door was clearly visible now, but should she go in? what if he tried this again, what if he came up with more convincing lies? Lyndsay found herself breaking out into a run again, this time it was back to the only home she had ever really known.
It was lunchtime and Sister Madeline was clearing up the plates as Lyndsay arrived out of breath and tears streaming down her face. Sister Madeline put down the plates and hugged Lyndsay and let her cry for sometime.
Sister Madeline holding Lyndsay When she felt that Lyndsay had cried all she needed to she looked into her eyes and said “Are you going to tell me what’s happened my dear?” Lyndsay wiped away her tears and started speaking, finding that it all came rushing out “He kissed me, he said he loved his wife and Sarah had been a mistake but it was all a lie, he kissed me and the worst was I kissed him back. I think I love him, he’s a cheat and a liar and I have fallen for him.” With this she fell into silence, anxiously staring up at Sister Madeline waiting for her to respond.
Sister Madeline took a deep breath and said in a somewhat sad and tired voice. “I knew that kind of man he was and I sent you there, this is my fault, I just never suspected he would try anything with someone as young as you and with his wife living in the same house.” She shook her head as if trying to figure out how he could have thought that was a good idea. She lifted her head looked at Lyndsay and said “I am so sorry you had to go through this, you will not have to return there, but someone has to go and help Eveline. We did promise, so I will go in your place. It is important for her sake that what he has done doesn’t get back to her now when she is in her fragile state. You will have to get on with the work here in my absence, Sarah will help you, will you be okay?” Lyndsay nodded her head slowly.
Sister Madeline patted her hand and said “I must pack, I must get there soon before you are missed and make your excuses. We can’t tell her now what her husband is but maybe one day it will be a kindness.”

Run Lyndsay run as fast as u can and never look back! My goodness you nearly became ones of his conquests! Thankfully you have a good head on your shoulders! Especially cause you are falling for him getting out of there is the best thing you can do! If you stayed he would work on you to change your mind, everyone is a fool in love. She did the best thing and went home to Sister Madeline! I wonder what Sister Madeline will tell Eveline why Lyndsay isn’t there and if Lord Marquis will try it on with Lyndsay again! Also how Lord Marquis and Sister Madeline will get on!

Oooh, she dodged a bullet! She has good instincts, most young girls would have fallen for his charm, and his lies.
I can’t wait for Sister Madeline to see Lord Marquis, hopefully she’ll take care of him. 🙂
